Our Mission

Each child’s life and loss is unique, as is each family’s grief.

Our goals are to keep families from becoming isolated in grief while preserving the memory of their heavenly children. We aim to create a network of support for grieving families and to raise awareness in our communities about what it means to lose a child.

Remembering these beautiful, short lives can be sad, but it should also be a celebration of the light and joy that each life brought to the world with it, and the light and joy that still remains in our hearts and minds.

We give in honor of Hannah and Sydney, our Heaven sent gifts.

From our children to yours, may all heavenly children always be remembered.

Meeting Our Goals

Our main goals are remembering each heavenly child and supporting the families who grieve their loss.

We remember our heavenly children and support each other every day by telling stories, sharing photos, and reliving moments.

Throughout the loss and grieving processes there are needs faced by families, both immediate and delayed. We aim to meet those needs as loving, understanding friends.

Grave Marker Donation

Visitation is a significant part of remembering and grieving. To help families and friends with visiting their heavenly children, Heaven Sent Gifts is donating two memorial grave markers each year to families who do not have them.

We believe that every heavenly child should have a marker that honors their memory and serves as a place to meet and remember together.

Immediate Care Boxes

In a time of shocking loss, it is difficult to find comfort and support. Heaven Sent Gifts has put together immediate care boxes for use in hospital emergency rooms. These boxes provide keepsake items that emergency room staff can use to support families and help them to begin navigating their grief as they prepare to leave the hospital without their child.

Stories

How we experience children in life and in loss varies and can be very individualized. Telling stories is part of remembering but is also crucial to building connections with others and finding support in grief.

Heaven Sent Gifts is collecting stories from local families about their experiences with loss, grief, and remembering their heavenly children. This collection will be part of our Immediate Care Boxes and will serve to help us build a network of support for grieving families.

Our Story

Heaven Sent Gifts was created in 2017 by co-founders Tara Moyer and Britney Niles-Schoeller. Their mutual experience of loss and their differing understandings and processes through grief brought them together in an effort to help others going through a similar time of difficulty and loss.

People grieve in many ways, and while it is sometimes a very individual experience, grief should never be isolating. Heaven Sent Gifts was born out of a need for connection and support and to honor and remember those who have passed.

Since its inception, Heaven Sent Gifts has celebrated many heavenly children and connected with families across our community. We look forward to growing this network of support and remembrance together.
